The residents of Katakolon in Greece were astonished to see Muammar Gaddafi at Katakolon port on April 1, 2011.
Gaddafi disembarked from a luxurious yacht and walked down the dock for a while, despite the fact that he was supposed to be missing person and one of the most wanted personalities this last year.
It seems that Gaddafi decided to come to Greece and confirm the rumors that wanted him to hide somewhere in the Mediterranean. The ambassador of Libya was expecting the Libyan leader at the port, along with the mayor of Pyrgos, Mr Makis Paraskevopoulos, who knows Gaddafi from their years at the Military School in Athens.
Journalists from Al Jazeera were also on spot, recording the arrival of Gaddafi, who walked at the port for almost half an hour, waiting for the refueling of the yacht. Later, the yacht left for an unknown destination. At the moment, agents of the Greek secret service and the CIA are examining the area, trying to track down the known leader from Libya.
Has Gaddafi actually visited Greece?
Gaddafi’s appearance in Greece was never given by a local agency on April 1st, 2011. As you can imagine it was one of the jokes made on April’s Fool day.
Gaddafi never appeared at Katakolon port or any other part of Greece in 2011. The picture provided here appeared at the website of a local news agency and is of course result of Photoshop editing.
